Entain’s share price tumble follows a broader trend for gaming stocks in recent years. Added to that is a declining interest in the LSEG, as listed companies continue to exit at pace, including Flutter, which removed its secondary listing from LSEG in August.

The gaming giant left for greener pastures in the US, expecting to benefit from higher valuations in the most liquid equity market. But analysts have noted a similar downward trend in Flutter’s share price over time.

The key takeaway for an experienced player is that none of these mechanics is genuinely novel on its own. The interest lies in the combination, and in REEVO’s decision to package several familiar systems into one release aimed at broad appeal.

Thunder Walker is best read as evidence of REEVO’s content strategy rather than as a landmark launch. The studio is producing recognizable, theme-led slots and pushing them through its own distribution platform to its operator network. The game is now live through the REEVO platform, making it available to the company’s operator partners and their players.

Greek mythology remains one of the most durable and repeatedly mined themes in slot development. Zeus, Olympus and storm imagery give studios instant visual shorthand and reliable player recognition, which is precisely why developers keep returning to it. REEVO going back to that well signals a preference for proven commercial territory over riskier concepts, at least in this part of its roadmap.

For Yggdrasil, Game in a Box and Studio in a Box are therefore intended to become more than tools for its own development operation. Curwen envisages them supporting a wider creator ecosystem, although he acknowledges that proving the model commercially must come first.

“We’re still early,” he says. “The priority is to prove the model properly; make sure the games perform and demonstrate that it works commercially. If we do that, I think the opportunity is significant.”

Five years from now, Curwen expects the development landscape – and the studios operating within it – to look markedly different.
